No, your roaming service is already activated for your account, just make sure to have your phone switched on and have cellular data and data roaming enabled.
If your roaming service is not working, try restarting your phone or switching to airplane mode for a few seconds before turning it back on.
To minimize roaming costs, you can connect to Wi-Fi whenever possible. You can go to settings, turn off Data roaming and mobile data, and connect to Wi-Fi when not using data. Also, make sure to disable background app refresh while roaming to minimize data usage. If you have an iPhone navigate to Settings > General > Background App Refresh. From here, you can toggle it completely Off or select Wi-Fi Only. If you have an Android phone, go to Settings > Network > Data Usage > Data Saver

If you don’t want to use One roaming service just make sure to have Data Roaming and cellular data turned off. If you don’t want to make or receive calls or send text messages either you can keep your phone in airplane mode and only use Wi-Fi when available.
If you are unable to initiate a call while in the USA, make sure to have VoLTE and 5G activated on your phone. If you have an iPhone please follow these steps to enable VoLTE: "Settings > Cellular (or Mobile Data) > Mobile Data Options > Voice & Data > select VoLTE." For Android users: "Settings > Connections/Network & Internet > Mobile Networks and toggle on VoLTE calls or Enhanced 4G LTE Mode"
