Yes, One Communications offers roaming for all its customers.
- Prepaid customers can dial *663*5# to purchase either a Caribbean Passport Plan or an International Passport Plan based on their destination. The details of each plan are displayed above.
- Postpaid customers are allowed automatic roaming on all Eagle plans. However, only those on the Eagle Prime, Eagle Premium, and Eagle Elite plans can roam for free from their plan allocation in the USA, Panama and Caribbean cricket countries on specific network providers.
To roam in a foreign country, customers must first configure their devices correctly.
- Check that Mobile Data is turned on.
- Ensure your APNs are correct. Click here to view the correct APN Settings.
- Enable Data Roaming on your device to use data while abroad.
- Apple: Go to Settings > Mobile Service > Mobile Data Options and tap “Data Roaming” to switch it on.
- Android: Go to Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks and tap “Data Roaming” to switch it on.
- An additional step for prepaid customers who wish to roam from their core balance is to dial *663*5# and select option “3” to Enable Data Roaming. If you are using a passport plan or are a postpaid customer, skip this step.
- On your device, manually select our partnered network carrier as soon as you enter the other country.
- For Apple iPhones: Go to Settings > Mobile Service > Network Selection, then turn off automatic selection, wait a few minutes for the various networks to appear and select the correct one.
- For Android Phones: Go to Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Network Operators, then turn off automatic selection, wait a few minutes for the various networks to appear and select the correct one.
Only postpaid customers on the Eagle Prime, Eagle Premium and Eagle Elite can use free roaming from their allotment in the USA and Canada as long as they manually select the correct network carriers, i.e. T-Mobile/AT&T/Verizon for the USA and Bell/Telus for Canada.
If you encounter issues while roaming abroad, you can either try restarting your phone or switching to Airplane mode for a few seconds before turning it off. Additionally, you can check to ensure that data roaming is on and the correct carrier is selected. Please be advised that your SIM card version will affect your roaming experience. Newer SIMs will allow better roaming connectivity as compared to older ones. Customers can limit their roaming usage by connecting to Wi-Fi where available and switching off both “Mobile Data” and “Data Roaming” if they do not wish to roam.While abroad, they can also periodically monitor their usage by dialling *663*2# to view their remaining plan allocations.
Yes, roaming is automatic for all postpaid plans, but only the Eagle Prime, Eagle Premium and Eagle Elite plans offer free roaming from their plan allotments in the USA, Panama and Caribbean cricket countries on specific network providers. If customers roam on any other network within those territories or in any country on the Eagle/Eagle More plans, they will be charged for their usage.
Customers on the Eagle Prime, Eagle Premium and Eagle Elite plans who use up their plan allotment while overseas will be charged according to the default roaming rate of the country they have visited. These additional charges will be reflected on their next postpaid bill. Customers on Eagle More plan will be charge from credit limit since this plan doesn’t offer free roaming.
Postpaid customers can switch off roaming when in another country by disabling both “Mobile Data” and “Data Roaming” on their devices.They can also place their handsets on Airplane Mode for the duration of their trip to prevent any additional charges.
Postpaid customers on the Eagle Prime, Eagle Premium and Eagle Elite plans must manually connect to one of our partnered networks when in a territory where free roaming is offered (i.e. the USA, Canada and Caribbean Cricket Countries) to prevent additional charges. They can also dial *663*2# to consistently keep track of their remaining plan allocations and monitor their usage throughout their trip. On the other hand, postpaid customers on the Eagle/Eagle More plans who are roaming can limit their usage by connecting to Wi-Fi where possible and switching off both “Mobile Data” and “Data Roaming” on their devices. Alternatively, they can place their handsets on Airplane Mode to avoid incurring any additional charges while travelling overseas.
Customers can purchase a new roaming passport through the USSD menu by dialling *663*5# when their current passport plan has expired or is depleted.
